Job Details

Under the direction of the Library Director, this position involves professional, supervisory, and minor administrative work in directing youth services for the library. Hours for this position are Monday - Thursday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with alternating Fridays and Saturdays 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Typical Duties Plans, develops, and conducts library programs for youth, both in the library and in the community (i.e. story hours, summer reading activities, crafts, etc.)Maintains calendar of activities for children monthly. Supervises, trains, and evaluates staff and volunteers who assist in children's and young adult sections. Develops budget recommendations and routine expenditures for consideration by the Director. Assists at Circulation and Reference desks as needed. Prepares media releases and/or assists others in preparing informational documents for release to the public. Prepares library newsletter.
